Catt here. Sometimes, until people remind me, I forget that owning a press is a huge accomplishment. I am proud that my father, the original JEA, began writing under the name and left me his legacy. That said, I always hate taking credit because I see what others do/have done more easily. I need to brag. Scott Pratt. If anyone can imagine a man I trust enough to hand over all banking information to and allow to serve as CEO to a company I love dearly, you get what I have done. I can ask/tell him anything (and have) and trust him with my very life. Besides being that kind of friend, he is a damned good businessman and I am thankful for him every day. He is a professional and a good guy. Thanks, Scott for making JEA great! Jim Goforth. The words escape me. I am generally in awe of his talent, his smart decisions, and his accomplishments. Although he is fun as a dear friend, he is also such a great writer and a great businessman that asking him to serve as COO was a given. He inspires me every day to be better! Toneye Eyenot. He is like a brother to me. Talented, smart, driven, kind to a fault: he is everything people should strive to be. His caring and humor have helped me more times than I care to count. I pray every day that I am half the friend to him that he is to me and my entire family. (Going to go shorter now because my shoulder is bugging me, but in no way does it lessen my love for these people) Dawn Cano. My BFF. There are no words for how much I adore this smart lady! She gets me and I hope I am a good friend; she sure is to me! And she can edit the hell out of a story! John Ledger. He makes me cry, laugh, and snort Dr. Pepper up my nose at his antics. I new he was a gifted writer but he is more than that, and a gifted staff member. He is priceless. Roma Gray. Tireless, loyal, dedicated, brilliant, sweet, creative..I could go on and on! She is a total joy and a gift to JEA Amanda Lyons. No words are enough. She is an inspiration and so smart and sweet that it amazes me. Her loyalty and dedication are unreal. SO much love to her! Mark Woods. I could cry, remembering that his advice and reviews are what gave me my start. Without him, I might not have signed my first contract with Severed Press. When he said "rewrite", I never hesitated; I trust him that much! (He is also a good writer!) Michael Noe. He is one of the most supportive, caring people I know. Not just a good writer, he is able to reach out to people and make them feel good; that is a gift. He also makes me laugh and is a heck of an interviewer! David McGlumphy. I met him at a convention and he is the nicest, funniest person ever. He is not just a great cover artist, but he is also the kind of person anyone needs as a dear friend. We had so much fun at the con! Stephen Cooney. Have you seen his art? Right. He is talented, and an artist I love working with. I am thankful he is also my friend! Michael Fisher. Fish. He has done so many favors for me, I have lost count. Not once has he ever been anything but a loyal friend and he is also an amazing cover artist. I love this guy! T.S. Woolard. Shane. How many times have i cried on his (internet) shoulder? He is caring and yet will not hesitate to tell me when I mess up. His honesty is what makes him a friend to me. I saved him for the last because I cannot even say all he has done to make JEA great; he literally is the heart of JEA. We have a wonderful staff and I value each. We also have some wonderful authors. In a slight throwback, instead of just grabbing new releases (get them, too!) check out some older works that I am very proud of! Find these on Amazon! (also available in print)
The storyteller is the soul of man, the flame and the wick by which he thrives. Here then you will find such storytellers and the worlds they weave with their tales dark and light, humorous and stark, uplifting and bleak. Heroes and monsters so bold they could only be forged in the fire of the spirit, the imagination of man.

The time had come at long last. The Kirlt'th sorcerers' lineage had their motivations behind each targeted kill throughout the extensive history of the Blade Of Power-motives that would one day become apparent, as Joshua plodded uncertainly to his inevitable doom...
For over a year, the pages that follow have been passed back and forth from one editor to another, swapping hands with publishers along the way, before finally landing where it stands now. What you are about to read is not necessarily horror, bizarro, whimsical writings, or anything in between. What you are about to read is simply a collection of odd tales, each set in New England, written by some of the most talented writers I know, each presenting you with an amazing variety that makes up the whole of New England: Weird Featuring Tales by Catfish McDaris, Cameron Shifflet, Garvan Giltinan, David S. Pointer, Charie D. Lamarr, David Anderson, Anna Haney, Brian Barr, Thomas Olivieri, Donald Armfield, Essel Pratt, Roma Gray Enlarged to see detail of cover:Dig into the most brutal contest ever. Each set of stories (from one male and one female) was sent to a team of judges. Nerves began twitching and egos sagged. Would the males or females be declared the Best Horror Writers of 2015? The results were returned. Jaws dropped. The contest was declared a tie! The winners from each set were pitted again. There was a winner, but only by one story. The females won; as soon as that was said, threats of revenge gushed forth. The men were ready to fire back. In a double anthology, decide for yourself who should have won. Do you agree with the judges? Let the battle continue...Male vs Female. Female vs Male. To the death. Get some frightening love from these authors....
John Ledger is quickly rising within the world of bizarro. Like an up and coming Barker or King, he is the one to read now and keep an eye on for future releases. ~Essel Pratt, Author of Final Reverie

coming from JEA:At J Ellington Ashton Press, we specialize in horror and are proud of it. From January until October, we will present some of the scariest books available. While we do have many releases, it is only because we have so many outstanding authors with us, a full editorial staff, and a formatting team. Add staff artists and it's a perfect recipe for a half dozen or more books each month. We hope some faithfully shop our authors and JEA as well.
