Fearfest....

At J Ellington Ashton Press, we specialize in horror and are proud of it. From January until October, we will present some of the scariest books available. While we do have many releases, it is only because we have so many outstanding authors with us, a full editorial staff, and a formatting team. Add staff artists and it's a perfect recipe for  a half dozen or more books each month. We hope some faithfully shop our authors and JEA as well.

Ezra Bekitt took the High Guard exams to get away from Dream Street. Away from the stink, and the shifty smiles of the dealers and thieves, and away from the corrupt leeches who passed themselves off as the law. Now a killer is stalking the shadows of the Lowtown, though, and the guard people called the Champion of Arcadia will be drawn down into the labyrinth of Hatis City's back streets once again to try and find a mad man before he kills again.

BiographyMichael Kanuckel lives in a small rural town in the middle of Ohio with his two sons. He has been writing since he was in kindergarten, and always knew that he wanted to be an author. He has published short stories in various science fiction and fantasy magazines.

They've been gone from our world for millions of years, little more than a collection of fossilized bones and detritus from a forgotten past, but now they walk among us! Dinosaurs have returned without a moment's warning and now they're coming to take back their world one stomping foot, swiping claw, and gnashing tooth at a time. Can you survive the Jurassic Attack? Featuring cover art by David McGlumphy and stories by: David McGlumphy, Justin Hunter, Donald Armfield, Nikolai Misura, T.S. Woolard, Dona Fox, Ryan T. Sirk, Stephen Blake, Gary McCluskey, Catfish McDaris. Essel Pratt, Roma Gray, Amanda M. Lyons

In theatre there is something called “the fourth wall”. In the classic box stage setting there are solid walls at right and left. There is a wall up stage facing the audience directly and a fourth invisible wall between the reality of the actor’s world and the reality of the audience.

If you look for it, the fourth wall can be found everywhere; between safety and chaos, reality and fantasy, sanity and madness. All you need to do is step sideways at the wrong moment and you’re through. On the other side of that wall, all things are possible and a way home is not always guaranteed.

Sometimes it’s not the dark you should be afraid of…it’s what’s hiding in it.
Whilst helping an old man sort through all the junk up in his attic, a young lad discovers a photo of his elderly neighbour taken many years before. Sitting him down, the old man begins the tale of the night that photograph was taken – the night, one Halloween, that he and five of his friends all sat down to tell each other scary stories with terrifying and tragic results.
Fear of the dark is the first full length solo release from established U.K horror author, Mark Woods, and collects together many of his previously published short stories along with several new ones, exclusive to this collection.

Alex is a man who is haunted by a tragedy that occurred on a lonely and forgotten road when he was young. Since that night he has been followed by the phantom creatures that took his sister. However, he cannot imagine the true horror that led to the events of that night or the epic battle that has spanned the centuries under the watchful eyes of the Specters of Mist and Sand.

The troll has long been with us, a beast that dwelled under the bridges and in the dark hollows of our world. Often cruel, misshapen, and always hungry it came and went on its own terms, a monster which took and hid. He was a beast we left behind in the dark ages, the mark of an era of superstition and darkness-- or so we thought. Here you will find trolls of many sorts, monster, man, and gentle, if conflicted, ally all of them very much a part of our modern world.

Armada.

Thriving metropolis with a population including more than its healthy share of extreme heavy metal aficionados, which is why this city is the ideal location to kick off the inaugural tour of mysterious death metal super group Undead Fleshcrave.
With a concert to play to a sold out venue, the brutal metal collective have the metalhead denizens right in the palm of their hands, ready to unleash musical mayhem for Armada’s headbangers.

Among the capacity crowd are Seth, Mark, Julietta, Miranda, and their friends, all of whom belong to a different metal community to the death metal crew, that of black metal. Nonetheless, they will have more than a casual interest to witness the must-see show which has been the talk of the town for weeks.
Only this headbangers heaven isn’t going to be any ordinary concert. It is about to turn into headbangers hell. Undead Fleshcrave have a little thing they call Zombie Trigger which is going to be unveiled right here in Armada, and all true death heads are going to be treated to an orgy of bloody brutality and terror beyond any of the ultra-violent lyrics in the songs they adore.
Hopelessly ensnared in the crush of a concert turned cruel trap, Seth and company are just about to find Armada has been earmarked as the epicenter of a deliberately planned out undead apocalypse.
And this is only the beginning. Undead Fleshcrave have a calculated plan which will see them continuing their tour of terror all across the country, bringing the Zombie Trigger and its undead repercussions to every town they visit. Unless somebody can figure out how to stop them.

After the events of the gothic horror novels Eyes Like Blue Fire and Water Like Crimson Sorrow, the vampire Katja finds herself tackling a great deal. Having destroyed many of the revenant undead and occult relics left behind in the wake of her battle with Marie Gaston, she is exhausted and left with many questions about the master who made her his fledgling and the only other remaining vampire who can tell her more of his secrets, Mateo.

Dark forces are shifting and changing the world in which they find themselves, not all is as it seems and the past is far from buried.

In the far future, Teena is ready to celebrate her eighteenth birthday by running for her life. Up to this day she lived in a former military base in the middle of an old, desolated city, Today will decide if she will join the fabled Survivor Island or if she will be killed by her former friends.
